Q. Why should I use email as a marketing tool?
A. Traditional forms of marketing carry a higher cost than email marketing and provide little in the way of measuring the effectiveness of the campaign. Using MailYourMarket as your email marketing system, the costs are as low as 1.25 cents* per email recipient and you can view reports on who opened it, who clicked on what links as well as being able to measure the success of the campaign by viewing send-to-open ratios.

Q. How do I get started?
A. To get started with MailYourMarket, simply
fill out and submit this form, email us, or call 905.828.9189 to talk to a sales representative who will ask you for all the information that is required to set up the system for you. Once we have all required information it usually takes no more than 30 minutes to set up the system and have it ready for you to start uploading your permission-based email lists and building your first campaign.

Q. How does MailYourMarket work?
A. Once the one-time set up of the system has been completed you are ready to start. Start by naming and uploading a list of email addresses. Your list should just contain one email address per line. Once your list has been successfully uploaded you create your campaign and set your links. Then you build your email in html and view it to see if it is correct and finally you pick the list you want to send it to and send the email. Once the campaign has been sent you can start viewing opens and click-throughs.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. A one-time set up fee of $99* covers the costs associated with setting up the system for you. Included in this cost are 1000 credits placed in your account for sending emails. You can purchase additional credits for as little as 1.25 cents* per credit. For further details on pricing,

Q. How do the credits work?
A. Quite simply, for every email address that you send to in your list, one credit is deducted from your account. So sending out a campaign to 5000 email addresses will cost you 5000 credits. Credits can be purchased for as little as 1.25 cents* per credit. For further details on credits,

Q. What happens if I don't have enough credits in my account to send out a campaign?
A. You can purchase credits at any time through the Purchase Credits section of the back office administration. Payment can be made in real time via PayPal, or you can send a Credit Purchase request form and we will invoice you for the credits.

Q. Can I see who opened the email that I sent?
A. Yes you can. MailYourMarket tracks all email opens and provides you with the email address of the person that opened the email as well as what list they belong to and the time that they opened it. We also track IP addresses in the event that you want to use this information to gather more information about the list member such as geographic location.

Q. Can I place links in my emails to direct recipients to pages on my web site?
A. Absolutely! MailYourMarket allows you to set up links for each campaign and then tracks click-throughs on the links. MailYourMarket tracks total clicks per link as well as the email address of the member who clicked the link, the list that they belong to, and the time they clicked on the link, all on a per campaign basis. If you have tracking on your web site, you can even see how deep the member went on your web site after clicking on the link in the email! This is a great way to measure effectiveness of your campaigns as you can see which links are the most popular.

Q. Can recipients unsubscribe from the lists?
A. Yes. Under the CAN-SPAM act of 2004, it is the law that you provide mechanisms through which your list members can unsubscribe. At the bottom of every email sent there is a link that when clicked on will automatically unsubscribe the member from the list that they are a member of. Also, your physical mailing address is included (a requirement of CAN-SPAM) in the case that the recipient would prefer to mail you an unsubscribe request. The back office administration has a manual unsubscribe facility to enable you to manually unsubscribe email address from all lists.
Aside from the fact that it is a law, it is also good practice to allow easy access to unsubscribe as it instills trust that you are not a spammer.

Q. What happens after someone unsubscribes?
A. When a member has unsubscribed by clicking on the link at the bottom of the email, they will be redirected to a page on your site that you specify. At the time of set up, you will be asked to provide this landing URL.

Q. Why can't I just use my desktop email program to send out email campaigns?
A. Email programs are designed for mailing people in your personal address book and for routing incoming mail to certain folders. They are not intended for managing more intensive tasks such as mailing out thousands of emails. They often use proprietary html tags that do not display correctly in all email programs, and they have no way of measuring the success of the campaign.

Q. I don't have any html experience. What can I do?

Q. What about email programs that can't accept html email?
A. No problem. When you build your html email in MailYourMarket the system automatically creates a text version of the email by stripping out any html tags. As it is up to the email program to determine what it can and cannot read, if it cannot accept html, it will read the text version which is sent along with the html version in every email that is sent out.

Q. I want to grow my email list. Can MailYourMarket help me do this?
A. It is always a good idea to have a form on your web site inviting people to sign up to receive newsletters from your company. If you are not already doing this and you are using MailYourMarket, we can provide you with a snippet of form code to put on your web site that will add the email address of anyone who fills out the form to an email list on MailYourMarket.

Q. Does MailYourMarket send to a whole list at once in the "Bcc:" field?
A. No. Each email is sent out individually with the recipients email address displayed in the "To:" field.

Q. Can I send attachments with MailYourMarket?
A. No. We feel that sending attachments to opt-in email lists is a bad idea. There are a few reasons why. First off, email attachments have become known as a carrier of computer viruses. Many people have filters set on their email program to quarantine emails that have attachments, and many even delete them outright. Secondly, attaching a file to an email gives you no feedback as to who read or viewed the file. MailYourMarket feels that the best way to handle external files that you want to deliver to your recipients is to put the file in a directory on your web server and then add a link in the email to the file. Not only does this bypass the email attachment paranoia, but it allows you to track the click-through on the link to the file to see who was interested in it.
